Annie Leibovitz opens at London’s National Portrait Gallery
Annie Liebovitz is front and center today, with a major exhibition of her most private photos, set against the backdrop of her public images of top-drawer Hollywood celebs Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt.
The Telegraph UK quotes Sandy Naime, director of The National Portrait Gallery, saying that the exhibit is a “very emotional” look into Leibovitz’s personal life. The photos charts the photographer’s relationship with Susan Sontag, Sontag’s death from cancer in 2004, the loss of her father and surrogate-births of Leibovitz’s twins.
